Izzy and Lily

Izzy and her new baby sister, Lily, visited my studio recently.  I had a great time taking photos of these sweet girls and visiting with their parents about life with two kids!

Kasey

I first photographed Kasey when she was three months old.  She recently turned one and came to the studio for photos on the day of her first birthday.  It was really fun for me to see how much she'd grown (time flies)!  We played around for awhile and then celebrated as she dug into her first birthday cake.

Happy 1st Birthday, Kasey!

Alivia

This was technically my second time photographing Alivia, although the first time she was still inside of her mom's belly and we couldn't see those big blue eyes and adorable smile. She is 9 months old now and had a great time at the park, ooing and ahing at her surroundings and giggling at her mommy and me.

Hudson

This little guy was only 5 days old when I photographed him.  He was the perfect baby... so content and sleepy.  I just love his little fohawk!

Aubrey

Here are a few of my favorites from a recent shoot I did with 2-month-old Aubrey.  I just loved capturing all her cute little expressions!

Smiles

Ian has the best smile.  He has been smiling (real smiles) for a couple of weeks now and I think it's the cutest thing ever.

Calin, Stella and Addie

I met these guys at their grandparents house, located on eighty acres of land complete with a pond, gardens, ducks, bunny rabbits, a swingset and a trampoline... it's no wonder they love to spend time here!  I had so much fun following them around as they played and explored.

Catching Up

Lately, I have been finding myself wishing I didn't need sleep to survive. Seriously. I could get so much done. Life with two kids is definitely busy... thank God for coffee and grandparents.

When I am passionate about something, it is almost all I can think about. I have a hard time waiting for things to happen and want everything to be perfect right away. This has been my challenge with photography. I wanted to know everything, take amazing pictures and have the perfect studio from the very beginning. I soon realized this was impossible and have been forced to slow down and take everything one step at a time. It's been such a learning experience with lots of trial and error.  This can be frustrating but also very rewarding. I learn something new at every single shoot.

Lately, I have been working to improve my in-home studio. Not only will this make for better photos, it will also make for a happier family (moving everything from the living room into the dining room each time I had a shoot was getting a little old for all of us)! Eventually, I'd love to have a studio outside of my home, but for now I've decided to make this work and am excited about the changes I've made so far (I'll post photos soon). I also received my new camera and lens in the mail and am very impressed with the quality of pictures I've been able to achieve.

Getting caught up...
here are a couple of shoots I did right before and right after Ian was born... more adorable baby boys!
